I made this piece in a painting workshop class. I had my girlfriend model for me in a powerful stance and I painted her in a misty forest in knight armor. Using a muted color palette, I created visual contrast between the bright armor and the dark background. The haziness of the background gives the composition an atmospheric feeling that works well with the strong pose, almost like a scene out of a fantasy film.
